The question here is- Why on earth do things need to get worse before it gets better? I mean is that even necessary? Why is there a need to go through all these trials & tribulations and the whole Merry-go-round or roller coaster of highs and lows before the good times decide to roll? Honestly, I don't have the answers. I'm writing this post with the families and friends of the passengers who were on board flight MH 17 in mind and heart. My deepest condolences go out to them who has lost a loved one or a dear friend. At these times of need, know that we Malaysians are behind you all the way. We may not be present physically, but in hopes our incessant prayers will see you through better days ahead, as challenging as it may be.
Malaysia has seen better days. With this Malaysian Airlines jet that was shot down and had crashed over eastern Ukraine, this marked the second calamity in a year for MAS and Malaysia as a whole. The first being MH 370 which is still missing as we speak. That too, did it's bit in conjuring a myriad of controversies and speculations which were slowly denied by the authorities. But let's not get there.
On the other side of the globe, Israel and Gaza are in a terrible crisis which I refuse to elaborate because I'm bad at this and it'll make me cry. jk.
An eye for an eye makes the world blind. - The legendary Mahatma Gandhi.
Imagine if everyone stood by this quote, how wholesome and peaceful life would be? I'm definitely in no position to comment on the raging issues that the world and our country are facing but it's nice to wonder sometimes how life would be if certain changes were made ; weapons non-existent, countries were made to talk things out professionally without the need and use of aggression which in turn causes destruction, havoc and casualties and if 'War' only involved pillow fights and name calling. No aggression. I'd like that.
With all these going on in the world, is it a premonition that an apocalypse is underway? But I'm not done with degree yet and most definitely not done with life. We need more time.
Sometimes it's easy to focus on the darker side of the picture. Our problems are most often than not enlarged and our blessings in life are set to a smaller scale-which isn't fair. One thing that I feel all these crisis, and calamities have taught me, us is that life must go on. I'd prolly be thrown rotten tomatoes at right now. It's cliche and much easier said than done. Malaysia has faced the same predicament twice, meaning we're more experienced in handling and caring for the families who are mourning over the deaths of their loved ones who were on board. From every little tragedy that we face, we now have a move to counteract it. We are made stronger and more efficient. Countries come together in a common effort to set things right for the benefit of both parties and there's always hope. Hope that life will take a turn for the better, a hope that better days are on it's way.
So when they say "Things always get worse, before they get better", read between the lines. There's hope. There is always hope. Sometimes hope keeps us alive, it keeps us wanting to live each day and move on because there's a little crack in the seams where the light will shine and then all is well because you know greater things are waiting to unfold at the right time and place.
I urge you, fellow readers to look on the brighter side of the picture. And if you still find yourself stuck at the morbid end of the line, hang in there and keep trying to see the parts of each predicament, manipulate it to your own advantage if you can and hope for the better. Because a dash of hope goes a long way. ;)
Just HOPE.
